Dog almost ate cat

Well, I think I've recovered enough from this episode that I can type! I was working on my other blogs when I heard my dog just yelp like she was being dragged off the porch. Our dog is a large dog, 80lbs., and stays outside with roaming rights (we live in the middle of a lot of land, lots of space for her). So, thinking I might be dealing with another dog or coyote, I, of course, opened the door to find -- nothing! Where's the dog? I call her name and she slinks out from under the porch, taking care to avoid something there. I look over the railing and see a white cat I've never seen before looking like it had just been tumbled, but it was still alive. The dog came up on the porch and looked like she just didn't know what to do -- the last time she got hit by a cat, the cat ended up dying a violent death. This cat, as far as I know, is still alive... Interesting, if it is still living in the morning, maybe we'll keep it! Would be nice to have a good mouser around...
